Mobile BA voucher question

I cancelled our NY Feb trip and requested a voucher. I know it’ll take a while to arrive.

I’m sure I read before that it could be applied to another trip booked after cancellation by emailing them with the details, but can this be done if the new trip is paid in full?

Can’t find where I read it previously, pretty sure it was somewhere in the BA site or in the t&cs.

As they’ve changed the payment terms now I paid the new trip in full but would like to apply the voucher if possible.

Not a big deal if not as I’ll still be able to use it before expiration, I just don’t like sitting on vouchers incase I forget about it.

Anybody have any experience with this?

The voucher can only be applied to a new booking.

If you have already paid for a new booking, the voucher cannot be applied.

I think in practice they were allowing it before.

I certainly applied a voucher to an existing booking in October, it was booked in May. But that wasn’t paid in full.

This screenshot from my voucher email seems to suggest you can have a refund if you've paid the balance of your new booking in full. My voucher is a future travel voucher from a flydrive we had to cancel.

I think that’s what I remember reading, thanks.

I’ll give it a go when the voucher arrives. It’s worth a try.

I spoke so someone today ay BA and you can apply a voucher to an existing booking. They weren't able to do today (something to do with their systems) but they have said they'll call me Monday.

Thought I’d update incase it helps others.

I replied to the BA voucher email with my new booking reference and got a reply back within a day that they are applying the voucher and I’ll receive a refund within 5-7 days.
