Thank you! She is excited to go- even though she has never lived in the UK and will be still only 17!

Phew! I think after getting their place, getting the right halls seems to be high on the list of anxiety points! At RH DD had to put the type of accommodation into a ranking. She was lucky to get the type she wanted!

That is such fabulous news! It’s all getting very real now isn’t it?!
We got an email from son’s accommodation saying that they have to pay their first instalment on the day the offers come out! So that’s 8th September. I’ve just rang them to get more information and basically they’ve said that as their contracts were based on the original start dates they can collect their keys as soon as they’ve paid the first instalment. They expect the University to open about two weeks later but they have no official dates! Just praying he gets his first choice now 🤞 They also said house is fully furnished so he just needs a duvet, pillow, bed covers and towels - so I will make a start on that now. |

My friend’s son is hoping for RH depending on results which will hopefully be fine.
Weirdly he’s had an email telling him he has his second choice for accommodation which he’s quite happy with but he’s not definitely going so it seemed odd. She’s had 2 other children go through the process before and said that’s not ever cropped up.

Yes- my DD had her accommodation offer before they had confirmed her place. I don’t know if it is just those who put it as their firm or all. Then the week after the A level results they will get an email telling them to log on to the accommodation portal to confirm the accommodation. If the deadline is missed then the room goes back into the system. It is apparently a random procedure (not first come first served) which is just as well as my DD only did hers in June!

My daughter had to accept her accommodation offer in June at her firm choice, even though she has a conditional offer.
We even had to pay a deposit for the accommodation. They said it was refundable if the place was not confirmed. I am not sure if all universities run their accommodation like this. It does seem odd to pay a deposit so far in advance of the a level results. |

I’ll let her know!
Not long to wait now. Although DS basically already knows his diploma result, he does still have his English A-level to wait for and it’s not long now! 😬

Well I guess it makes sense. Otherwise there’s an awful lot to arrange in a 2-3 week period

My DD was able to log on to UCAS this morning to accept her unconditional offer (she had changed slightly her degree) - so very real now!
Are there any Scottish results this morning!?
