Voting for Glasgow - my partner is mad on Eurovision and we even go to the final in Stockholm of their area tour show that picks their entry each year - Melodifestivale

They would be made it if it was local 😜

The Leeds bid is highlighting that there is a large Ukrainian community in the city, the arena meets the requirements to host, and Leeds has already planned a year of culture for 2023 (they were due to bid for European City of Culture in 2023 but had to withdraw due to Brexit). It also has the hotel infrastructure required.

Like other cities on the list, the city centre easily gets clogged with traffic , and there is no rail link from the airport.

Eurovision has previously been hosted in Yorkshire when it was in Harrogate in 1982.

I’ll happily go to any of the venues. I just want a ticket!

shame but i dont think we have a venue that matches the occasion, yet...
That's a shame. The location is superb compared to the Arena...

I’d love it to be in Birmingham but I don’t think it will be due to the reasons already stated. I was surprised it even made the short list.

Think Liverpool would be an excellent choice, home of the Beatles and the infrastructure to go with it.
Good Luck to all though, it will be great honour for any of them to host it.

I don’t think that is relevant. This is a decision to be made by the BBC whose aim is to put on the best Eurovision they can, taking into account all the practical and venue considerations listed earlier, and of course cost.

I live 10 minutes from the venue in Glasgow. Not sure if I want it to win or lose! ( want it to win&#128522.
But I did go to Ireland to work for the week when Cop thing was on as it would have been a pain with the road closures. Might do the same again due to the amount of people it apparently brings.
I have to admit it’s not something I watch, but I do know people who love it.

Obviously hoping Glasgow wins, but what are the chances of "Joe Bloggs" getting tickets into the event? Very low I would think.

I wonder what was the criteria for being the host?
