A fuss over nothing?

WWYD, we’re at a glamping pod in Pembrokeshire, some of you may remember I was having issues getting the host to reply to my questions, eventually he did respond, anyhow we’re here and overall the place is really nice, but the toaster is IMO grim, to me it looks like it’s not been emptied of crumbs after use and they are all caked into the bottom of the toaster, there’s no way I’d use it! DH said forget it it’s not vital, we just won’t have toast, but I ignored him and told the host about it, he came over apologised and took it away, 15 minutes later he brought it back and said his wife says it’s not dirty just well used, did I want him to buy a new one and he’s sorry that I don’t feel it’s what I’d expected (is that passive aggressive?) I told him to forget about it, should I have not said anything?

I think your over thinking, move on, don't waste brain or heart space and enjoy your holiday.

They're not good hosts. Couldn't he have given it a clean and brought it back?
However I would move on and let it go.

I think he has responded well to your request and even offered to buy a new one. For me I’d be happy with that and just enjoy the rest of my holiday.

I have never looked at a toaster to see how many crumbs are inside when I'm on holiday! Why would I even think to look?

Go and look outside at all the amazing views you have on offer to you!

Myself - I would just have cleaned it from crumbs as mine at home often gets forgotten by housekeeper but if I had spoken with the host and he came back with reply (ie emptied it but happy to replace) I would have been delighted if not a bit embarrassed - if you feel it is still not as you would expect ask him for a new one and enjoy your day (and holiday) as you are paying him for it

I wouldn’t let an issue over a toaster cause an issue over my holiday.

Move on and either don’t use it, use it as it is, clean it or buy an new one and enjoy your holiday

Thanks everyone, yes it is stunning here, we’ve be to Angle this morning, absolutely fabulous and hardly a soul about, we’ve also been to Freshwater East where Dobbies grave is, maybe I’ve overreacted?
