We are devasted about this as it's only 10 minutes away from us. The sad reality though is that we have only flown from there 4 or 5 times as the cost has always been way above flying from other airports locally and when paying for 5 in has run into £100s more. We flew to Florida the first time from there, then they removed the flight. We would always have preferred to fly from DSA but just not affordable.
I am still hoping an investor will come forward as Doncaster has just got city status. There were plans for a rail link but that won't happen now ☹️

DSA to close end of October

It is being reported on some websites that Peel Group who own Doncaster Airprt are going to close it at the end of October.

Any chance of a buyer coming in and taking it off them?

Our fantastic local Airport at Blackpool closed a few years ago. It was brilliant.
I hope they can manage to keep Doncaster open.

The airport is very close to us but only used it once because they either didn’t have flights to where I wanted to go, or they were ridiculously more expensive. For example, we have just flown to cancun and even taking a taxi and hotel at the airport into account it was cheaper (and I mean hundreds of pounds cheaper) to fly with BA from gatwick than TUI from DSA. I would have loved to have flown from DSA.

I would love to see the airport saved, peel gone and more airlines flying from there.

We live 20 minutes away and fly from there in 5 weeks. Fingers crossed it will all be ok.
A shame for my elderly relatives who usually fly from DSA at least 8 times a year and have just started venturing out after Covid.

I absolutely agree with what people are saying about cost. We live 10 minutes from the airport and would love more than anything to fly from here, we did on our first Florida trip. But the prices are crazy, as a family of 5 we save hundreds by flying from east mids or manchester. They also have more choice of destinations.
That said I really hope it can be saved we have one of longest runways too x.
