Horrendous Immigration at Tampa

We had an hour and a half at JFK in April and expecting similar when we fly to LAX at the end of the month.
I just don’t understand how they cannot process people more quickly.
Annoyingy as well, always seem to arrive just after the largest planes possible with a full flight of non-residents who don’t seem to have the correct paperwork handy!

Not good news! We fly into Tampa in a few weeks, that’s the last thing you need after a long flight.
How was Gatwick - just trying to gauge what time we need to arrive at the airport?

Tampa immigration was bad in April when we arrived. Took 1 hour 15 mins and the flight was delayed so we already landed an hour and a half later than we should have.

Indirect this time so looking forward to landing and walking straight through

Tampa always used to be so easy and nice. 🙁 Like another poster, I wonder what it'll be like once Virgin are flying in too.

Surprised to hear about Tampa as it WAS a great airport when we went.
Sorry to hear it’s gone downhill.
JFK Sue is bloody awful, I refuse to ever fly their again. It’s the pits with zero food options before check in as well.

We flew into Tampa 3 days ago and had to wait 1 and 1/2 hours, it was very slow. They had 3 desks open to process the whole flight. The only bonus was our bags had to wait for us rather than us waiting for our bags!
