DH uses Dove I sample a range just by buying one bar from somewhere like Bodycare or Savers but unless I have caught the sun my skin isn’t really dry.
I use simple, imperial leather or wrights coal tar ( not for the feint hearted)
I tend to look for the old fashioned soaps and not the cosmetic ones without strong added perfumes.

My wife buys her holiday toiletries very selectively. I have a bar of shield cut to a third, a disposable razor a toothbrush (folding) and a small toothpaste.
We do also use hotel toiletries when provided.
We don’t take any towels either.
Sheild ,wow that takes me back!

I just mentioned up thread I use Imperial leather or Wrights Coal tar ( I used to have a very stinky job and that was the only thing that got the smell out)

I am on the lookout for Sheild next time I am out shopping .

Buying it over there will make any case less heavy, so a reasonable suggestion nevertheless.

Getting Excited

Bought shampoo in Canada three years ago when I decided not to take my own and it was so expensive. Saw some 100ml bottles of hand sanitizer in Asda a few weeks ago and they were reduced to 30p each. Bought six of them as this was cheaper than buying the proper travel bottles and once I've used the sanitizer I will refill with my own shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc.

I never normally buy toiletries there but definitely going to this time! The only thing I’ve debated taking is suncream as I presume it’s really expensive over there, does anyone know if this is the case?

I disagree, all the branded shampoos such as Aussie are much cheaper in Walmart than at home, and in larger bottles. The spray sunscreen is also a fraction of what we pay in boots, even with the naff exchange rate. We always buy in the states and leave what we don’t use.

In Walmart the spray banana boat is just under $7. We now use walmarts own make and have two bottle for $6.50, we’ve used it for years and never burn, unlike when we use the very expensive amber Soleil at home.
