A Level results while away - any advice?
We fly to Florida on Wednesday, the day before results day and I'm suddenly feeling very unprepared! In an ideal world I understand that DD will get her results and will get an email from her chosen university confirming her place. But does anyone have any experience of someone not getting a place and what we might have to do next?
One thing in our favour is that she's applying for next September (2023) so she has more time if anything goes wrong. Should we be thinking about clearing or is that just for this year's intake? |

I would think clearing is just for this year as it is about filling course places in September but someone else may know better.

I thought clearing was only for the next year but someone said the other day on Facebook their child had deferred a place through clearing.
I think if she doesn't get the place she wants it might just be easier just to reapply than messing with clearing. With the time difference you will have to be up early to sort everything out if she needed clearing. You might need to sort accommodation out at her chosen uni if not aleady sorted.

Clearing is typically about getting people in for the upcoming academic year. She'd be able to re-apply later with confirmed grades if she doesn't get what she wants.
