17 nights in kissimmee

After 17 nights in Kissimmee , a quick overview of our time here (moving on to 2 carnival cruises and a week on coco a beach)

Accomodation
Stayed at the Serlago suites the whole time, th e place is not as it was 5 years ago, mainly due to lack of investment and probably the covid effect.
Changed rooms after 1 night as it was appalling, but arrived 2am and I think it was the "last room" . next morning after a few words we changed to another room, the A/C worked, as did the shower, toilet with a clean comfy bed and microwave, basic but for £425 you get what you pay for. The 2 pools clean, though lots of people in the "bar pool" the back pool we virtually had to ourselves all week. It was a shame the big cafe was closed it used to do a great breakfast.(didn't see any bugs or roaches however the food and rubbish the cleaners removed from guest rooms in the mornings probably encourages pests, bins outside for this)

What no car!
First time ever for me. However the lynx $15 a week ticket was great value, the 55 and 56 to Disney were nearly always on time as per the app at our stop and dropped off at MK tickets and transportation, which enabled us to mono rail to Epcot, other parks we used Disney buses from the Polynesian.( signposted near enter an event to security at the far end of MK car park drop off from the trams)

Disney
Both the days we booked in Epcot guardians was not working unlucky really, and if park hopping you can't get in till after 2pm and the virtual Q opens at 1pm.
Lightning lane, we didn't use with being there for 14 days didn't feel the need longest Q was 70 mins for us at ROTR which was worth the wait. Most other wait times around 30 mins.

Photo pass not as many photographers as usual, or that I can remember and some are using automated cameras like at Anna and Elsa ( we ended up with some random kids on our memories!) chewy was the same it didn't work so a CM just clicked away with your phone camera hoping for the best, probably a shortage of staff as jobs advertised nearly every shop and eateries so no doubt Disney struggling for staff post pandemic.

Getting bumped into, never been bumped as much , the majority of people are walking round heads in phones looking at the app, or playing games etc and not just the young ones

Disney buzz, well first time I have not felt it and had no urge to be there for rope drop as previous visits, chilled by the pool first thing. Maybe getting old and visited a lot previously made me more laidback about the place

Old town was great, enjoyed the car cruises and the Sakeba at the far end with great food and $2 bud light was great and the staff and bar regulars were a pleasure to chat to. Logan's provided a few nice steaks, and the Golden Coral on the 192 was pretty amazing compared to the one on I drive. It was spotless with great fresh food and $9.99 Buffett with drinks for us over 55s. Tried the local Cicis pizza whiich las the standard all you can eat buffet which was adequate. Breakfast usual, I hop, Denny's, McDonald's. the Denny's had just been returned so was nice.

Water park with only typhoon lagoon open we went once and it was rammed, more people than water in the main pool, should be better whenever blizzard beach opens. We managed all the slides early doors as was in the park for opening.

It's getting expensive with poor exchange rate and $5.50 for a small Diet Coke in Disney one example. Denny's about $12 a breakfast for an idea of prices.

The enchantment fireworks were decent and the new Epcot show worth seeing, it's a shame the train at MK still no operating due to tron expansion. Some of the newer rides temporarily down a lot, once you ride them most of you can understand why, seem to be complicated compared to a standard coaster or simulator ride.

All in all a decent 2 weeks in Disney and Kissimmee, lounging by the pool whilst rambling on here and our taxi to the port is booked for morning.
