2nd Holiday of a Lifetime -3 weeks of bliss - Day 07

Late start this morning, decided to have a lay in and take it easy for a bit & then head on up to Universal.

Took the I'Ride to stop nr 7 in order to walk to Universal (on someone's recommendation, can't remember who). Big mistake. It's not just a quickie wander, it's a long way and there appear to be no signposts.

In the end, we picked up a taxi -$10 for a really quick ride, but frankly worth it - it was our own stupid fault to risk walking, so we pay the price.

After a quick look round City Walk (which I absolutely love - the shops are well worth a look, although there are cheaper options at the outlet malls) we had a brief amble round Universal Studios. Wait was short for Terminator 2-3D - which was as good as we remember from last year. Seamless really.

Moved on to my favourite of the two Universal Parks - Islands of Adventure - I just love the scenary, esp at Seuss Landing.







Waiting time for rides was spectacular - 5 mins for Hulk, Spiderman, Duelling Dragons, etc. Sadly though, I can't do any rides due to my illness - still terrible cough from the flu, but it's still great to wander around.

Supper at Nascar tonight - a real favourite for us now and we plan to re-visit a few times. $42 for the two of us - $50 incl tip.

Grabbed a taxi back to the hotel for $9 - just goes to show much expensive the short ride into the parks was for $10 - oh well.

Quick look over at Poine Orlando, but the evening storms cut that short and it's time to call it a night.

Amazing to think its cheaper to get a taxi from your hotel than walk part of the way and then get a taxi.

We once did the bus then walk.(long hot walk). its only when we were telling someone back at QIP that they told us they do free buses from the hotel. so we caught that the next time.

Would have loved to do the rides, but just wasn't well enough - usually avoid the water rides since I'd prefer not to be walking around soaked through - not a good combination with getting over the flu too.
