Mini First Timers Trip Report

Hello everyone! I thought I’d do a mini trip report for DL Paris. We’ve been to Florida a fair bit but this was our first Paris adventure.

Background

Me, husband, 11 year old. We folded in DL Paris as part of our summer holiday. We did a couple of days in Paris, a couple of days in DL Paris, then onward for the rest of our trip.

We stayed in Val d’Europe at the Resihome. This was great for the train to SK and Paris, plus it and great for families that don’t want to share a bedroom!

First up we had two days in Paris which was lovely. Lots of history, lots of monuments, Olympic stuff, 30k steps a day and most importantly… lots of fabulous food.

Next came Disney.

Mini Trip Notes

In short, we all loved it.

As Florida fans we weren’t sure before heading in and it was a real highlight of our trip.

The main park felt very ‘Disney magic’ and the theming was wonderful. Especially Main Street, Adventureland and Frontierland. The Avengers area of Studios was a real hit with the 11 yr old.

Some of the rides were fabulous. The mix of thrill and not-so -thrill kept us all happy.

Our favourites: Big Thunder, Hyperspace, Tower of Terror, Avengers Flight Force, Pirates, Phantom Manor.

The Lion King show was fab, as was the parade. The only ‘dud’ for us was Crush, everything else was a hit.

Studios was a bit chaotic to get around with the works, and the village was mid refurb but neither bothered us too much.

It was mid summer hols and queues were long. On average we waited 30 mins. Some things got up to 2 hrs at peak but we’re not that tough, especially in the heat.

Over the two days we rode everything apart from Buzz. I have no idea how we missed it?!

It was great to have wall to wall sunshine. It was not so great to have minimal air con everywhere especially in a busy park full of sweaty humans. Blurgh.

The snacking was good. Highlight was the ice cream parlour on Main Street - delicious and good park value at three scoops for £5.50.

The only Florida thing I missed? Queues with things to look at. The cattle pens were everywhere, even for newer rides.

Sadly, no fireworks as we were dead on our feet on both days after going for rope drop. I don’t think the two days in Paris previously helped our stamina!

We would totally recommend a DL Paris trip. It was fabulous. And missing the fireworks but that just means we need to go back right?!

Thanks for reading along.

So glad you enjoyed it!

We took our grandaughter 2 years ago for her first Disney taster, we were also dubious after being regular Florida visitors for 30 + years, but we ( and she!) absolutely loved it!

We stayed for a week at The Marvel Hotel and also did a trip into Paris, and totally agree about the rides, Pirates, Tower of Terror and Big Thunder are actually better than Orlando, and the Magic Kingdom park there ( the Disneyland Park) to me feels more beautiful.

We were also lucky to enjoy a week of sunshine while there and would definetely go back.

For photos….

Hit the edit button on your first post.

Hit ‘choose file’ and this will open up your images.

Select image by clicking it and when it appears on your DIBB page, click ‘upload image’.

The image will now move to below that blue box that has ‘choose file’ and ‘upload image’ in it.

Click on your edited text box where you want that image to be.

Click ‘save changes’… or carry on picking up and pasting more images.

In the event that you have just started a post and want images within it, simply click on the ‘go Advan;cede’ box and proceed as Ihave detailed above.

Hoping that this helps.

Thanks for the report. Can I ask why you thought Crush's coaster was a dud? It is our favourite ride of both parks but it's been a while since our last visit. I know the queue can be long but we go during EMT/Early entry. I think we will spring for premier access if it's really long this time round.

I thought it was too short, not that ‘spinny’ and the whole ride looked a bit tired…. Apart from Bruce who was ace.

Nemo is one of my favourite films so perhaps my expectations were too high?!

How did you find the Marvel hotel? My son is interested…. But he doesn’t foot the bill 😬
