Skydive City / Z-Hills
Anyone skydived at Skydive City (Zephyr Hills)?
I was a keen skydiver before we had our kids. Now they are young adults, jumping again is a possibility. I’m contemplating going over to Skydive City when we’re over in October, to see if I can get myself cleared to jump again. Email I got from the center suggests I might need to do a ground school again, but that’s fine (I could do with a refresh). Just wondered if anyone has any experience of that DZ before I commit. Thanks |

I went a very long time ago to do a tandom jump. Was epic. The training was pretty funny though and I felt like I was on the floor for 15 mins then I got told they got me a spot on the plane and up I went haha

I’ve been in touch with the DZ. really helpful and quick responses. Told me to book onto a ground course, instructor will test my knowledge, then see if they can get me jumping again (expect I’ll have to jump with an instructor again at least once).
Also booked a little bit of time in the wind tunnel (got DS some time as well). If the weather plays ball, I’ll hopefully get chance to do a few jumps and see if I want to jump more regularly. Spoilt for choice in Florida. Loads of world class drop zones within a few hours of Orlando. Was an expensive hobby 15 years ago. Dread to think how much I’m going to haemorrhage on it this time 😂 Edited at 08:59 PM. |
