So disappointed for you with Oga's I was genuinely rooting for you to get a good experience there, it's such a shame as I know your a big Sw fan. All I can say is Disney must do better especially after the space 220 debacle and missing fantastic because of wrong wait time

I just don’t get Oga’s and don’t see the attraction. There’s very little in there but people! I’ve seen people post about CM interaction but any we’ve had have been bordering on surly.

We’re currently in Jungle Skipper Canteen (or whatever it’s called!). This is new for us so fingers crossed!

Today was another later start as we had Space 220 lounge booked for dinner and Oga’s Cantina booked for park closing. We had originally planned MK but decided to move the multi-pass to another day and have a long lie instead. That meant about half 7 😂.
We had a first breakfast of muffin and coffee as usual then when to Disney Springs for opening. We looked in a couple of shops then were a bit hungry. We headed to Joffrey’s as we wanted to buy some bags of coffee and while there decided to get a coffee and a pastry. We just got one pastry between us and it was enough. This cost about $11 as we got the 20% discount with the voucher we were sent for booking with Disney.

The coffee was nicer than I expected, I assumed it would be too strong but it wasn’t. The pastry was nice.
We were in Epcot by the time we were ready for lunch, and we were really ready! We stopped at Belgium for food as we were hungry now. We got a braised beef and waffle with chocolate sauce each. This cost around $24.

This was really nice and filling so we didn’t have any more food and wine stuff. We have an Epcot day planned next week where we hope to get round some new stuff!
We still had a bit of a wait for our GotG LL so headed round to Moana however on the way we decided to pop into Starbucks and get a drink as we were flagging a bit in the heat. We both got a mango dragonfruit refresher, Marie with lemonade and mine without. This cost $11.

This is mine as they both looked the same. I’d had this at home a few times and really liked it. This was the same.

When we had rode GotG we still had about 15 mins for our Space 220 lounge booking but just checked in anyway.

We didn’t wait long before we were taken up in the lift. Our table was better this time as it was more side on so neither of us had our back to the screens like last year.

Marie ordered an Illumination which was Bacardi, Malibu, passion fruit, blood orange, pineapple, lime sour and passion fruit Boba balls.

Mine wasn’t so exciting. Last year they had a proper zero proof cocktail with Lyre’s “tequila” spirit in it however despite a section headed zero proof cocktails all they had were two children’s drinks. I asked about this and the CM said yes, that was all they had plus the usual soft drinks. She hadn’t really gave us much time to look at the menu so I felt a bit rushed. Disappointed I ordered one of the “zero proof cocktails”, the Starship Lemonade which was strawberry, watermelon and lemonade with a glow cube and was supposed to come with collectors cards (which I never got). This is where is went downhill. The CM obviously misjudged her audience and thought it would be amusing to bring it in the kids spaceship cup. She said it was included in the price (the website said it was actually an additional $8).

This infuriated me. I was already annoyed that they had labelled two kids drinks as zero proof cocktails and were charging $16 for a lemonade but this took it too far for me. The glow cube was irritating me too so I took the cup apart to get it out. I ended up taking the bottom off too. I was raging to the point Marie told me off for being huffy. The CM clearly saw I was annoyed, probably because of the mug in pieces and offered to bring me another drink in a glass. I said I would prefer that and she apologised for it. I ended up feeling like I had to explain myself and said when you’re an adult who doesn’t drink alcohol it’s nice to have the option of a zero proof cocktail that isn’t a kids drink and Space 220 had been somewhere I’d been able to get that so it was disappointing that they no longer did it. Anyway, she brought be another one of the $16 lemonades and it was actually better because it was in a bigger glass and wasn’t as sweet. I didn’t take a photo of this since I was in a bad mood.
Anyway, we couldn’t decide whether to order a couple of flight bites or just get the dinner menu. I was so annoyed now I just wanted to eat something and go so ordered the calamari and Marie got the sliders.

These were nice as always. Marie let me try a bit of a slider and they were really nice.
I started to feel a bit better and felt bad for the CM - although I still think she should have asked me so I didn’t feel that bad.
We decided we had room for dessert and I got the pina nova and Marie got the Strawberry Nebula.

These were nice but nothing spectacular.
This cost us $120 including tip. It was tainted by the drink issue but not so much that I wouldn’t go back. I had thought at the time maybe I was a bit hormonal but I’m still annoyed this morning so I guess not. Marie also pointed out how ridiculous it was that a lemonade cost almost as much as her cocktail and I kind of felt a bit scammed. Ok, I knew the cost before ordering but labelling those drinks as zero proof cocktails rather than non-alcoholic speciality drinks was a bit misleading. Plus if she hadn’t brought me one in a normal glass the cup was about half the size! Anyway, I’ll know next time to just have Diet Coke!
We went to DHS after this. We had hoped to do Fantasmic! so had moved our Oga’s reservation to 9.30pm. As it turned out we joined a 15 minute RotR queue that changed to 50 mins as soon as we joined and we didn’t get off in time to get to the Fantasmic! theatre. We rode Smugglers Run as a walk on (although it said 30 mins) and then just went to Oga’s in the hope of bringing forward our reservation. They were happy to oblige.

As usual, we were placed at the bar. I don’t know if it was the time of day but we didn’t get long to peruse the menu.

Marie got a Bespin Fizz.

I got a Blurgghhfire.

This was ok. Marie’s was $20 and had one spirit in it. Mine was fine but nothing special. This is the 3rd strike for Oga’s. I just don’t get it. There’s really not much to see inside. This time we were at the other side of the bar than previous visits and it just looks the same. The music is terrible and we always wait to hear the cantina song even though I don’t even know if they play it as I’ve never heard it. They give you 45 mins but I don’t want to stand for 45 mins so no danger of me hanging around. The only reason we booked it was to get an empty Galaxy’s Edge but it’s not necessary. You just need to hang around. So this is it for us and Oga’s unless they completely change it.

Overall not the best day and I think the first time I’ve been properly angry at WDW . Today is MNSSHP so hoping for better!
Oh no, does not look like the best day, I hope that's all your bad luck out of the way. DH doesn't drink alcohol and has some real inconsistency ordering drinks. Three Bridges the lady serving us wasn't sure, but the bar did a great virgin Mary when asked which would be his drink of choice.

How annoying at Space 220… I very often have non alcoholic drinks and I’d have also been annoyed to have been brought out a cup that’s essentially for a 5 year old!

We didn’t ‘get’ Oga’s last time we visited and thought it was overpriced.

Hope you have a fabulous time at MNSSHP!

Sometimes I ask, sometimes I just go with the menu. I like to when they do proper zero proof spirits but only a few do those.

Day 9

We were trying for a long lie yesterday and managed to maybe 8am. We had coffee and a muffin and took our time getting dressed. We had decided to go to Celebration. Marie always wants a look in Woofgang Bakery. We headed off around 10.30am. When we arrived we were starting to get hungry so went to Downtown Diner for 2nd breakfast. We both got 2 eggs scrambled with bacon. Marie got tater tots and white toast, I got breakfast potatoes and multigrain toast. We both got coffee. This was really nice and cost $41 including tip.

This was nice and better quality than we’d have got in the food court. Also a lot cheaper than what we’d have paid at our original booking at Kona! We saw someone get the pancakes and they were the size of the plate!

We headed to MK about 2ish for MNSSHP. We had an extra day on our tickets since we didn’t do a park on Wednesday so decided just to go early. We did a couple of rides then started to get hungry since we’d had a late breakfast but no lunch. I suggested we try for a TS place so we could relax a bit before the evening ahead. There were a few places that had tables including Skipper Canteen but Marie wasn’t sure about the menu. The Plaza was allowing walk ups with a 10 minute wait however it kept changing at one point to 20 minutes. When I checked for 2 it wouldn’t let me join. When I selected 4 it then said 10 minutes. We decided to just wander over and were told they were reservation only. I pointed out the walk up option but that we couldn’t seem to join as a 2 and was told “that’s correct, we only seat 2 at a 2 top and 4 at a 4 top”. We just walked away in disgust. We did wonder what they’d have done if we’d joined as 4 but said 2 inoffensive our party had left.
Anyway, I managed to convince Marie to go to Skipper Canteen and ask about the menu. Her main concern was the chicken and was it breast or thigh. They confirmed it was white meat so we joined their walk up list and were called immediately. The restaurant seemed very quiet so I think walk ups would be easily accommodated here.

Our server was great and had the expected corny pun jokes. We both just ordered soft drinks.

Marie ordered the Tastes like Chicken because it is.

I ordered the Hardy Har Char Sui Pork.

These were both nice but the pork was better than the chicken. The slaw was very spicy, too spicy for me.
We both decided to get dessert. I got the coconut bar.

Marie got the panna cotta.

We enjoyed this. Our server was great and it made a difference. This cost $107 and we added the tip to the dining credit. Paying with the credit was easy here as our server had a hand held thing that he could scan the barcode with.

Later we went for a drink at Auntie Gravities. Marie had a chocolate shake and I had a strawberry smoothie.

This cost about $15.

Because we’d had such an early dinner we were a bit hungry about 9ish. It was difficult to find somewhere as everywhere was so busy and we only really wanted a snack. The queues for everything were huge and there was really nowhere to sit. We took a chance on Casey’s as Marie wanted chilli cheese fries. I got the mini corn dogs. We mobile ordered and when we arrived at Casey’s it was packed. We managed to find a table across at The Plaza which was just as well because I don’t think I could have stood to eat it.

This cost $30 and was probably more than I needed. We probably could have sat in those seats for the fireworks but there were people with food trying to get tables so we just left. We were dead on our feet so watched the fireworks from the bus stop.

Celebration and Skippers canteen made for a better day than yesterday.
The server really didn’t read the table at all and I don’t know why a kids drink would be classed as zero proof cocktail, shame Oga’s didn’t improve the day either.
I am having a little giggle at myself (and Claudette-not really giggling at you as your comment made me feel better!) as I also read it the same as her and thought braised beef with a waffle and chocolate seemed a bit of a combo 😂

Yes The Plaza almost spoiled it but we just went somewhere nicer!
I may have worded the braised beef waffle better 😂.

Well they have completely redesigned that Jungle Skipper chicken dish since I had it in November here. I had booked it for before the Christmas party, my strategy is to always eat at around the party start time as I have found it difficult to get anywhere near food once the party is in full swing!
