I was rear ended in May. Car just 3 weeks old. A wagon came through a red light to my right. I braked and it went in front of me but the car behind went into me. The car was from Holland and he was on the way to the ferry. He said it was his fault which it was. He was in the wrong lane to go to the ferry so I think he took his eyes off the road in front of him to look to see where he should be. The insurance company said it would take longer as they would have to go through another company because he lived abroad. Still haven’t heard anything and it’s now September. Think I will have to chase them.

How awful on a week old car. I would want it to be a write off at that age as I certainly wouldn’t want it back.
Hope she is ok.

She is fine but 50 yards further on the bend is a narrow bridge over a deep drop if he’d hit her there she would have been severely injured for sure
Fortunately she had the savvy to phone the police as it was a European freight company Got pictures and pictures of his documentation No way will the car be deemed repairable how the heck she got out she did say she had to climb over to the passenger side then in to the back seat as it was as the only door she could open She’d just dropped our 3 grandkids off thankfully she won’t even pull the horse box up that road to get out the farm road |

Typical - Friday the 13th and a van reversed back into DS's car as the van driver spotted a mate he wanted to talk to !
All caught on dash cam , but caused no damage to the van but minor, superficial (though expensive) damage to DS's 22 plate BMW (possibly £900 ?). Difficult to advise DS what to do, as no doubt going through insurance will mean 5 years of added cost - despite no being his fault whatsoever - so unfair.

This is completely untrue.
I had a no fault claim (I was changing the wheel at the time) and my premium went up £90 I had another no fault claim p, I was stationary and a courier reversed into me my premium went up over £200. My insurance broker told me this people with no fault claims are seen as a higher risk than those with nine. No fault claims need be declared for 5 years. |
