At Tampa there were huge posters/banners instructing express reward members to go straight to the parking garage.

We had a similar experience with Hertz at MCO but in the Garage A/B rather than Terminal C. There were 5 in the queue so they urged anyone with Hertz Gold to go to garage and they would sort it out ( the various emails I had shared with a variety of Hertz online places trying to link the Auto Europe booking had been fruitless!) Greeted in the garage by a very helpful Hertz employee who swiped the CC did the passport thing and then directed us to a row to choose form a whole host of similar looking small SUV's - returned to the podium and asked if there had been a mistake as there were no mid size there and were pointed in the direction of the Platinum selection - which tbh had a poor selection - we grabbed the only decent mid size we saw and were on the road within 45 minutes of landing! MPC is possibly a bigger help than straight to garage on the car hire in terms of time saving. For the price paid for 3 August weeks with Auto Europe for Hertz - together with Hertz Gold - easy airport experience , car was less than a year old and little milage. Return service was good too with receipt emailed instantly.

Auto Europe booking deal update... I am a Dollar express member and just completed my online checkin at 7 days but at the end it still says go to the counter for my paper work despite express members being able to skip the counter, or at least that is what the paper work says. I will definitely update this post when we arrive on Saturday 14th to let you know how it went with Dollar

I’m struggling to get anything other than I need to go to the counter. I have checked in and given all details barring the credit card as there wasn’t anywhere to put those details. We fly next Thursday. So I’m definitely within the 7 days. Any ideas please? Or am I stuck with the dreaded counter. Tia

Quick update with hertz. 12/9/24 no queue by the time we got to the desk, no hard sell but we did take the fuel option. Mind you the garage is furthest from the desks for hertz!

Let’s cut to the chase. Hardly anybody is going to skip the counter with them. Thats life. Do Virgin care? No chance.

I do wonder if (skip the counter) was supposed to happen but the desk people revolted "How am I supposed to feed the kids if I can't fleece tired tourists?".
