August 2024

Is there an August 2024 group set up already? If so, I couldn’t see it.

I was wondering if anyone is already planning/thinking ahead that far?

It’ll be our first time so I’m just in obsessive researching mode!

Wahoo! Im VERY excited to be part of this group. Its difficult at this point to share our plans as I'm not quite decided.
We are usually a much bigger family however due to the girls getting older and the time of year (very hot!), the girls have decided not to join us so it's just me, oh and ds (15 at the time).

What I can say is that we will be flying from MAN with VA (saving points like mad!) Around 14th Aug for 2wks. Unsure if we will be on site, offside or a mix!
Disney is a must, as us discovery Cove as we loved that last trip. Oh and ds may do hhn ... I won't be though!

Eee very exciting... can't wait to hear everyone's plans❤️

Ah, thanks for joining my little group!

I posted on the planning page that I’ve set it up on another post about August 24 but I can’t share the link as I’m too new….is that something you can do?

So, I think we’re planning to do 14 nights probably at pop century but possibly a villa (I’m sooooooo undecided) with my husband and 8/10 year olds. Within these 14 nights I want to spend one day at discovery cove and one day visiting somewhere with airboats (boggy creek/wild Florida…).

Then I want to hire a car and spend a few extra nights staying in Clearwater and doing a few day trips - Anna Maria island, kayaking in a spring, exploring another beach or two. So hopefully 18 nights in total.

I’ve just got an Amex card with the intention of saving up some points towards flights but that’s a bit of a maze in itself to navigate! I think BA tends to be cheaper from London hence planning for them rather than virgin…..

Sounds like a great plan. Take a look at Head for Points for more info on avios and Amex, there’s a lot of info but it’s well written and easy to digest.

Excited to be planning for August 2024, got a few trips before then but not to Florida, this will be our longest away since Covid shutdown kept us out!

Rough plans so far so might change:

17th August flying out from London, almost certainly BA

10-14 nights on-site at WDW, a deluxe resort, probably split between a monorail resort and Boardwalk/Beach Club.
4 nights Vero Beach - undecided as yet but we loved it last year and would like to return.
7 night Caribbean cruise with Disney

I don’t think dd will be back at school until 9th Sept which is a real bonus for us date wise. Hoping it’ll help pricing somewhat.

Not sure yet but my sister might be joining us at the beginning, it would be their first trip.

We’re open to flying into Miami, Tampa or Orlando so that will help shape our plans once we know.

If Disney offers are any good we’ll book when they’re out, if not we’ll rent dvc. Feeling fairly confident the dvc will win out at the moment which may actually do us a favour as we can be more flexible with plans around which airport we fly into. Vero Beach may move to the start of the trip if we fly into Miami.

Looking forward to getting things moving once cruises are released and Disney offers out.

Saw your post in another thread saying you'd set this up.

We've been planning 2024 since coming back in Aug 22!

Prices have shot up. Disney and universal combines are looking like 1k more than 2022! For 4.

I've been flight watching for Aug 2023 to get a feel for a good price to jump on when our flights are released.

Hotel, we're waiting on April.offers, but between POFQ and pop depending on price difference.

Last time we did sports.

Then sticking with cabana bay for the second half as we loved it.

Also going for 20 days instead of 14.

Cannot wait to be honest. Nothing booked yet but we are moving house so we dont want to commit yet until after the move.

Planning on 15 nights pop, disney only and will be flying into MCO. We flew to Miami last year and wouldnt advise it due to the crazy drivers/roads there.

@gizmodo, what sort of prices have you seen for flights? What sort of range are you expecting for next year?
