Looking forward to seeing Boma, I always say it is one of my top three breakfasts onsite but I haven’t been since 2019!
We haven’t been since 2009 😂. That was our last stay at AKL.

I’m starting to get a bit hungry now but not sure how much justice I’ll do a buffet. My digestive system usually takes some time to settle after the pre-holiday excitement, flight and lack of sleep 😂.

We didn’t really have anything else in the lounge so next food was on the flight. We were greeted with a glass of fizz or orange juice. Marie got fizz, I got OJ.

Then we were given drinks and the little bag of sour cream pretzels. I swear this is getting smaller!

The menu.

We had pre-ordered mains. I went for the breaded chicken.

Marie the truffle Mac and cheese with too many mushrooms.

We also got a cous cous salad, cheesecake thing and the obligatory cheese be crackers.

Later we got the vegetable ice lolly. Not great!

About 90 mins before landing we were given afternoon tea. We both went for sweet. This was ok.

When we arrived at AKV we went to The Mara to get some food and pick up our refillable mugs. Since we were renting points we paid for QSDP as the mug is good for 14 days. We both went for chicken tenders which was more than we needed and had we been paying we’d have either shared or got kids meals. We got water for the park tomorrow and some zebra domes with a snack credit.

I’ve had one of the zebra domes. It was nice but probably not the best time to enjoy it. Marie didn’t feel like it and has gone to sleep.

That’s me off now too!

Spends for today $0 as we had QSDP!
Vegetable ice lolly what’s that all about 🤷to try & get your 5 a day 🙈
Zebra domes look yummy
Have a great first day 😎

Love Boma! One of the best buffets on property (or so the server told us). Enjoy.

We’re currently in our room watching Scotland get beat again so I’ll update.

We checked in to Boma about 7.15am but it doesn’t open until 7.30am so had a wee wait. We were called about the time of our ADR. We were brought coffee and POG juice (passion fruit, orange and guava).

Marie went up first

I tried to take some buffet photos

I got some savouries. I got the turkey bobotie. It was nice but not for breakfast. The pork sausage was not great. Marie got ham but I couldn’t face ham or turkey at that time.

I then got a sweet plate. I got the sticky cinnamon bun but it was just too sticky! I was worried about my teeth 😂.

We were defeated after this. I can never do a budget justice but I like the variety.

This cost us $93 including tip and probably for us wasn’t worth it but it was a nice way to start our first morning.

I love Boma like you say there's plenty of verity. Disney breakfasts are very expensive for sure. We tend to have about two per trip and make the most of them. For the rest of the time we mostly have cereals, muffins and pastries in our villa/condo.

As I post Scotland have scored so I’m more optimistic 😂.
After breakfast we sat on the balcony for a wee while watching these guys eat.

We had the last 2 zebra domes (Marie had one at 5am).

You can only watch giraffes eat for so long though and we headed over to AK about 9am. We pottered about. Wait times were a bit longer than we’d like and we plan to do early entry Monday.
After our FoP lightening lane we realised we were hungry. We went to Yak & Yeti with our Landry card as is traditional for our first day. We were seated within about 5 minutes.

We both ordered my favourite passion fruit Shanghai lemonade.

Neither of us fancied anything off the specials menu.
Marie went for her usual Kobe beef burger. This was served on a tray.

I went for something I hadn’t tried before, the Lo Mein noodles with chicken.

The flavour of these was amazing! The chicken was clearly thigh which I don’t love but it meant it had a great flavour. I actually could have ate the noodles without any meat they were that good!

This cost us around $59 but we used my birthday reward and one of the $10 rewards I got when I bought gift vouchers. I think we could have used 2 but the CM said 1 and I couldn’t be bothered arguing because we’ll have other opportunities to use it. This meant $24 was taken from the gift card but she didn’t bring the print out back. Hopefully they’ll be ok with the screenshot. We left $11 cash tip.
