Went for a few days over Xmas 1990, our first holiday.
Last minute type holiday, allocation on arrival.
Firstly we arrived during a storm & then we dropped off people to their various lovely looking, lively-ish hotels until finally we arrived at ours. This deathly quiet, but really clean hotel.

We missed dinner so had to go out to find somewhere to eat as nothing was put back for us. Took a taxi who took us to obviously a relative or friends cafe. Full of locals staring at us. Ordered a pizza of some kind which had lettuce on the top (yuk!) and chips. Tried to eat some, but then paid and fled to find another taxi back to the hotel.

Hotel entertainment was almost non existent and geared up for Germans, some of which were really rude to us over something I cant remember but we wasn't at fault for.
Xmas day and our young rep was in tears, a guest from our tour operator had died in her room and she was made to remove her jewellery for safekeeping.

Went on the really quiet beach to be harassed by a bloke selling his wares. Kept to little vases for years that we bought to get rid of him until they broke.

Never wanted to go back, never did go back.

Horrible place.

Barcelona, it’s a beautiful city but…… I got money lifted from my purse and when I was getting on the metro a couple of guys got between me and my partner and tried to push me off the train onto the empty platform.

Some lovely hotels but the whole island is very commercialised and geared 100% towards parting tourists from their money - even had to pay someone to stop on the side of the road to look at the rice terraces !

Manchester, toilet of a city

Dominican Republic. We stayed in a lovely hotel but both got the most god awful food poisoning I have ever had. I spent one week of the holiday just eating tiny bits of dry bread and water. I couldn't wait to get home and you could not pay me enough money to ever go back.
Saying that, I did actually go back this summer when our flight home from Mexico had to land to there to collect new crew and refuel. We didn't leave the aircraft though.

Cancun. I couldn’t wait to come home. It may have been the hotel, Hard Rock Riviera maya. The food was vile, I didn’t eat anything on the whole trip though that I’d love to eat again wherever we went. Everyone was clearly only after a tip. I wouldn’t return.

Also Ikos Andalusia! I was led to believe its exactly like Sani but all inclusive. It’s NOTHING like Sani! Faces like a wet weekend In march from most customer facing personnel and I was not impressed with the food at all.
