What’s happened to MCO duty free?
We have always found good bottles to take outbound from Heathrow. Came back in May and found reasonable tequila. Still cheaper than in England. Came back 2 days ago and nothing seemed cheaper! In fact quite expensive.! What’s happened ?

The savings on bringing home duty free booze seem marginal, whilst the inconvenience of lugging it around seems considerable.
If you shop around and buy in bulk when offers are on, then I reckon you will save more money with a combination of Asda, Tesco and Morrisons.

The only "duty free" I have found worthwhile is on Ferries to the continent. Airports are a big rip off..
For example if it was truly duty free then spirits should be 25% cheaper than in the shops.. And electrical items 20% cheaper..

Fly BA and do a pre order. Between £11 and £13 for a litre of good spirits.
We have 7 litres on order for going home. Blue Smirnoff.

DH usually buys a single malt on the way out but he noticed the same single malt that Aldi Scotland sell almost double the price in duty free and he says it’s a passable one

Similar on pre-order with Virgin, delivered to your seat enter code WPAXVHOLS for 10% discount.
My lad was chuffed with the duty free tobacco offerings at MCO, cheaper than Virgin he tells me. |

Cigs for relative were good and bourbon going out was cheap. It’s just everything at MCO ‘duty free’ was really expensive coming back ? Never been that expensive before?
