Girls holidays?

Thanks everyone.
I have no doubt in dh looking after kids. Not only is he a very hands on dad, they are 12 and 16 so as long as they get fed they tend to need no maintenance lol
I have decided to go. We are going to cyprus for 5 nights.
I am quite happy to not do all there activities and will decide on the day whether to take part or just stay by the pool.
As for the night clubbing i will go and see if i am having a good night. If not taxi home. I am sure there will be nice meals cocktails etc.
One poster got it spot on dh is my best friend. But i will go and have a good time i am sure 😊 thanks everyone

Well done on your decision, it is good to do things outside our comfort zone sometimes. I’m sure you will have a good time, you are going with close friends so they know you well so I’m sure they will understand that you may not want to do everything. I’m sure you will find there are others who won’t want to join in everything or go home earlier from a night out too. The secret to any holiday with others is tolerance and consideration of the others. Have fun 😀

I did. 3 of my friends and I went to New York to celebrate our 40ths. We had a fab time but it was exhausting!

I’m hoping to take the family to NY next time as I think my teen girls would love it.

Ah good for you.

I go on a girls weekend every year usually to a spa. I had DD young but some of my friends are younger and had kids later so we tend to stick to 2 nights. The youngest of my friends is 40 in two years and we’re already planning 4 nights in Dubai.

For the past 3 years I’ve also done a week away with DD, now 19, we’ve done Hong Kong, New York and Florida. I think DH is glad of the break 😂

me and my bestie go to wimbledon every year, usually 3 nights. we have also been to new york and planning paris next year. We love it

My DW tends to jet off somewhere once a year with her friends. They are planning Rome in September.

I don't mind. It doesn't cost that much, and we still have a family holiday and usually a "couples" break (either just us, or with friends) as well.

Plus I've been saving up the brownie points so eventually I can redeem them for a blokes trip to Vegas or something (yeah, right!).

Have a great time! 5nights is ideal I think, a week is too long away from the kids for me & 3 nights is nice but you need decent flight times to make it work which often bumps the cost up.

Have a great time... me and my mates go every year sometimes a lodge uk or abroad hotel 3 nite thing...my dh goes away too most years for a long weekend boys trips...n we both have a great time. No men or kids...heaven lol. Sure you will enjoy it!

My mum (49) goes on girly holidays with her friends . My dad goes skiing with the boys and on bike/car weekends. I think it’s perfectly normal!

I don’t have a group of girlfriends so I tend to go with my OH and my best friend/his partner. But if I had a group of girl friends then I absolutely would be!

My 2 friends and I have been camping (with the kids but no husbands) for the last 12 years. Earlier this year the 3 of us went to Budapest for a long weekend. DH doesn’t mind and I try to make sure we do things but he didn’t want to go to Budapest.
