It would make more sense to me if Disney was restricting the availability of the deal to TAs - i.e. you could only get it by booking direct (via WDTC, which I do understand IS a travel agency... albeit a related one).
As I understand it, Disney only allow the unrelated TAs to offer this as they can pre sell a lump of packages to them early and maybe that is what is not needed this year as many people are expected to book early.
Anyone think this could be the case, ie you may only be able to book free dining direct with Disney?

I wouldn’t trust TAs to get information correct, how many threads have there been on here about TAs giving out incorrect information on th basics let alone future deals.

Where do these agents get thier information from, do they speak direct to Disney or is it top down management?

For me, it’s doubtful Disney is going to tell UK agents way in advance of its own publicity agenda. After all, I don’t remember agents announcing GE opening early!

Oh gosh, all the not knowing, just a few weeks to go and we will all be in the know 😀
Would it stop anyone booking? Would you opt to go off site and travel in saving some money or would you just take the higher cost or pay out of pocket for meals?
Decisions decisions these things are all going through my head haha
Either way we will be going just unsure of how and when exactly 😀

We're not planning on going next year, but if we were and free dining wasn't offered, then I'd be looking at whatever the alternative offer was and weighing up our options based on that.

You never know!

I've seen so many people saying that they won't stay onsite if free dining isn't offered without even considering looking at what is offered

Thats the position my Son and his Partner are in for Nov 2020.

They are keeping their powder dry until things become clearer.

They are looking at 3 options:-
WDW with free dining - maybe
WDW with no dining and pay cash. Dine both on and offsite.
Villa.

As it stands the Villa will be one heck of a lot cheaper but does introduce additional travelling costs and time. Not an issue in my book

We're not going to know for sure until next month...as far as I'm aware Disney are keeping it all hushed until 11 April when the offers are announced so not sure how the TA's you refer to are in the know. Are you sure it isn't also hearsay to them?

I recently spoke to Virgin and they are still in the dark and have said Disney are not telling them anything until next month.
