Damaged passport cruise next week!

My mum is due to take my DD9 on a cruise from Southampton next Sunday (Easter Sunday) tonight the dog got hold of mums passport and damaged a corner which is now frayed slightly! Will this be ok through passport control at the terminal? Thanks all

How much damage ? Is anything damaged inside or is it just slightly frayed on outside? When we went to Florida last April my daughters boyfriend came with us , his passport had a couple of watermarks in the duplicate photo pages and he was fine. If you look online or if you rang passport office though I think they might advise replacing ... think it's one of those grey area questions they don't know what to say.

I think you can get a pp turned around pretty speedy in an emergency.

Last week we made an appointment at Newport where you are able to pick up a new passport on the same day as your appointment. It does cost extra but the process is very easy.
We did have to wait a few hours between seeing the first officer and the passport being ready to collect.
