is it me?

i am well aware i run the risk of being sent to coventry in posting this but whilst in florida, well the last two occassions i have taken myself of to other parts of the states.
last may i visited atlanta for a few hours and then on to chicago to see a game of baseball, about 24 hours worth.
this feb i went to dallas visited dealey plaza were president kennedy was shot, took a overnight train to st.louis then a flight back to orlando which was very enjoyable.
this feb it looks as if it could be a overnight train and return flight from new orleans or a day trip to memphis haven't decided yet.
any ideas?

Yes it would be nice to see other parts of the states but I would need a week at Orlando to rest.

No I love to see other parts of the states also, when DS is older I hope that we'll venture further afield there, just going to Georgia this year for a few days before flying down to Orlando.

I'd love to take a few months and travel through the US by car, mainly going to places with 6 flags and the like to be honest, but also to see 'real' America.

If you are visiting around 28th Feb this is Mardi Gras in New Orleans an absolutely fantastic experience, although it is a long time since I have been. The celebrations are on for about a week but the main event is on 28th.

Our first week at Easter this year was spent in Virginia. There, being British, we were something of a novelty and lots of people asked us why we chose to vacation there. In Orlando we were just one of the steady stream of Brits!

Houston is a great place and you can always go to Galveston for the day - Texas is my favourite State in the US and will be going back there again next year.
