DCL - Honeymoon
Hey everyone
Well we have just returned from Disney World, after getting married out there... we are both feeling depressed being back after having such a magical time and like most people want to go back. It got us thinking about having a 'short honeymoon' on the Disney Cruise Line, something different from Disney itself. Is it as magical as it looks? I work at a school so can't go anytime apart from school holidays, so I was thinking July/August, apart from that it is October half-term. Does anyone have suggestions for the best time? I noticed that you can do a 7 night caribbean cruise, has anyone done this before? Also, can anyone recommend a company to book through? Thank you and sorry for all the questions |

Hi! We loved our Disney Cruise. Full of Disney magic.
We book directly, that way it is in pounds and I can control and select everything myself. We did a 3 night Caribbean in January and it was wonderful. It was at the end of a WDW vacation, so that was the longest we could do. Next month we are on the Northern Europe during May half term. |

The Disney Magic sails around Europe in the summer. Nice short and cheaper flight
We've sailed on the Magic and Dream and they are both fantastic in their own way. If you book through an American TA like travel on a dream, then you may be able to get some on board credit.

Are you thinking this year or next year? Booking early is the key to DCL as prices only ever go up. This years prices will be super high now as they've been out over 12 months generally.
The Caribbean cruises are great, especially if you like white sandy beaches and don't mind the transatlantic flight. During the summer months, it would only be the Fantasy that sails there (during early months, you get the Magic and the Wonder normally too). The Med cruises during the summer are a great alternative and, like Claire says, short flight to get there and no jet lag. They are very port intensive so can be tiring, but if you go prepared, all will be good. We book through Travel on a Dream, a US travel agency. If you prefer to book in ponds, then book direct, don't book through a UK agency ok. Booking direct or through a US TA will give you plenty of flexibility should you want to change dates, cruises, people, rooms etc. DCL are the most fantabulous cruise line, but they do come at a cost. For us, it's worth it. Roll on 4 weeks time when we get to do it all again! Joa
