Advance Cinema Bookings
Can someone help on this one ? We are going to be in Florida when the new Star Wars movie comes out. My two boys love the whole series and I know Disney has character weekends when we are there in May.
However, despite being registered for news updates from several of the big cinemas, including the AMC and the other one at Universal, I have yet to see where you can get advanced booking tickets for the movie. I know there are a lot of Star Wars nuts out there and I know that for the last movie most of the early showings were sold out months in advance and I wanted to avoid similar problems this year. Any ideas anyone ? |

Hi Stuart
Dont know about Florida but we have already got our tickets for when it comes out here in May. Went to the cinema to book they told me I had to prebook over the phone but then they checked their system and were able to print out my tickets there and then. Got them at Cineworld if that helps. Nat |

We were out there when the second Harry Potter film was released.
I called the cinema about 2 weeks before i went and booked seats. They took all my details and let me collect the tickets when i went on the day. Glad i did as sold out for about 5 days...

We did this with the second Star Wars film, back in May 2002. I booked tickets about 6 weeks in advance on the AMC website. All I had to do was hand over the credit card I booked with (IT MUST BE THE SAME ONE...dont forget it! ) and then I got the tickets. You can collect your tickets before the showing to save even more time.
Ive had a look at the AMC site, and it doesnt seem to be showing an advance ticket booking option anymore though. I would go back and check the site periodically as I am sure they will do advance bookings... our local cinema is already selling tickets, and have been doing so for about 2 weeks. |

Posted an enquiry to Loews who run the cinema at City Walk. The response:
Advanced tickets for Star Wars will not be available until sometime in late April, and possibly early May. We do not have a specific date yet, and no other information is available at this time. So it looks like it is watch this space

Thansk Ade. I called the AMC at Downtown Disney and was given another number for some broker that deals with their tickets and was then told that they had no information available.
Its a bit frustrating when you are trying to sort out your holiday but I guess its fairer all round that everyone gets the same shot at tickets. |
