BLASTAWAY BEACH opens at Wet 'n Wild

Wet ‘n Wild Orlando kicks off the summer with the grand opening of their new family water playground, Blastaway Beach this Saturday, June 2.

Covering an acre and featuring a new sandcastle-themed water playground, Blastaway BeachTM is expected to be the largest of its kind in Florida. This will be Wet ‘n Wild’s first new attraction in over four years.

Built around a sandcastle rising 60-feet high, the new attraction will feature 15 slides, expand across two pools and have over 160 soakers, jets, waterfalls and water cannons. Designed especially for families, Blastaway BeachTM will feature a single entrance/exit, creating a secluded environment that is family-friendly and family-safe.

In addition to the ribbon cutting, during Saturday’s Grand Opening Wet ‘n Wild will recognize the winners of an art contest. Local, Orlando-area elementary school students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade were invited to submit their artistic representations of the new Blastaway BeachTM. Sixty winners were selected to invite their family members to join them as special guests for the Grand Opening ceremony to be held at 9:30AM Saturday morning.



But that’s not all! The first 35 families to enter the park on Saturday will receive free wristbands for Wet ‘n Wild’s All-U-Can-Eat Barbeque. “Summer means family togetherness and cooking out,” said Christopher Martin, Director of Marketing and Sales for Wet ‘n Wild Orlando. “We turned thirty-five this year. We thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the launch of our newest attraction.” The park opens to the public 10AM.

Wet ‘n Wild Orlando, the world’s first waterpark as recognized by the World Waterpark Association, introduced the world to the waterpark concept in 1977. Today, over 15 themed rides and attractions comprise an arsenal of thrills that provide guests an exciting variety of ways to “share the rush” with family and friends.

Looks amazing... we have always enjoyed a visit to wet n wild, it has some of the best water slides out of all the waterparks Although I must admit it's not the most attractive waterpark and this new addition is long over due, we weren't planning on visiting Wet n Wild on our next trip in June but we may just give it a try now X.X

Completely agree Solo, we love the rides but the place itself is not great, not much shade or room to move but will be visiting when we go in July.

Where have they put this then? I thought the park was pretty full. Hope none of the big rides have gone!
We agree with Solo, best rides by far. I actually don't mind the lack of theming as it takes less time to get from one ride to another and I don't get lost!
