Change to DLR fastpass system.

Apologies if someone else has already mentioned but Disney in California has changed its fastpass system and just wanted to give you a heads up.

It is still legacy paper fastpass but the piece of paper is now just a reminder of the time you have booked and does not get you access to the fast pass lane. Your fastpass is now linked to your actual park ticket. When you arrive at a ride you must scan your actual park ticket linked to you. This displays your photo to the attendant and therefore you can't say get 4 fastpass and 2 of you go on twice for example. You also then have to re-scan your actual park ticket again further up the queue.

So no more swapping of fastpass and the fear of losing your ticket. Time to get out the old lanyards for keeping them safe.

Lots of confusion on the rides with people trying to scan the fastpass reminder and holding up the fastpass queue.

Hope that helps anyone going soon. Think it did make for an easier day and managed to get and use lots of fastpass and rode most rides twice yesterday.

Wow! That's a change in proceedings. Helps to make it fairer though. Surely they should have CMs by the scanners to help the confused?

The CMs are there but people have their park tickets in handbags, purses, with another family member not in the queue etc. It was the time taken for people to actually find their park tickets slowing things up. By the end of the day I felt sorry for the CMs as I'm sure they had repeated themselves 1000s of times. Especially a problem at the second check scanner in the line as people had then put away their park ticket not thinking they needed it again and it had to be rescanned.
