Mobile Suitable ID in bars

Apologises if this is a common question but I haven't been able to find it on here.
Is a UK photo driving licence suitable for ID in bars in the US and would we need both paper and photocard parts or just photo?
My son and his fiancee are in their late 20's so will have to show ID of course but if we are with them (in our 50's) will we need ID too?
We didn't get asked for ID in Disney last year but we were not with our son or fiancee then so just wondered if this may be more likely this time. Thanks

Photocard and photograph or copy of your passport should cover most places.

Thanks that is a great help. Didn't realise they would accept a photocopy of passport, that is probably the easiest option.

It's not an either or it's both, they won't accept it alone only with a DL. If you don't have a photocard you need the original passport.

As others have said Photo DL plus copy of Passport for drinks in WDW. However it's known that sometimes the more elderly of us have not been asked for any ID ( Me for one )
As an aside unless you have NI DL the paper part of a Photo DL has been obsolete since June 2015. It is of no use at all, and you can bin it.

Well, I didn't know that about the paper bit. Learn something new every day 😊
We didn't get ID'd on our previous visit (as oldies) but I wondered if we go to the bar and order drinks, with younger family members in our group, would we be more likely to be asked for ID?

I can't drive and don't want to carry my passport around with me so I'm sticking to soft drinks - not that I'd drink a lot out there, just the occasional cocktail. It's crazy though - I'm 53, will be 54 when I go, and look well over the age to drink alcohol in America!
