I loved the Sandbar, food and service were great. Our waiter was so nice and helpful and gave us lots of ideas of things to do around AMI. Will try the Beach House too this year. From Clermont it took us 2 hours to get there so I'd say it'd be the same from Davenport. Not much further than Clearwater but so much nicer.

We've done it for the day too and it took us about 1hr 30 and that was in a 7 seater town and country!
Lovely place and very laid back, we had a nice experience at the Sandbar watching the sunset, our only issue was it was HOT and not much shade but totally not the restaurants fault, we wanted to sit outside.

I'm obviously a slowcoach.
We tried to get into the Sandbar just for a drink and watch the sunset but they insisted on us eating so we just stood on the beach, there was a wedding going on and the pictures with the sun setting as a backdrop must have been amazing. AMI is probably my favourite place in FL although it is quite expensive. |

I posted this in the Shopping section but if your staying on or near Anna Maria this might be of interest Another vote for Ellenton Outlets there are also Bealls and Bealls outlets close by as well as a few Ross and Marshalls. About 10 miles to the East is the rather lovely Mall at University Town Center see mallatutc/ with amongst other things a Cheesecake factor and a Tesla Showroom Oh and if you want something a little different try fullbellystuffedburgers/w...Belly_Menu.pdf there are also a few Amish restaurants . Bowling on Cortez is or was 2 bucks on Tues Night and depending on what your into facebook/bullseyeindoorpistolrange/ I'm not a gun person but must admit we did enjoy a session there.
