I have been to California parks on a couple of trips. Disneyland is in Anaheim and Universal in Hollywood, which are about 30 miles apart or 90 mins in LA traffic. We had car on both visits, but there were regular shuttles to Disneyland from good neighbor hotels, (think we were in Homewood Suites). On the first trip we combined a bus tour of Hollywood with US.
In this day of Uber, I am sure you can get about, but a car is a more convenient option in LA due to the expanse of the area. There is a DIBB forum for LA and west coast planning which should help |

I've been to both and off back next year but never a package .
Disneyland is only a couple of days really as only 2 parks and universal only Needs a day so most people incorporate both into a road trip or at least include a few more places . We have a car , there's very little in Anaheim bar Disney so we only stay there to do Disney . There are shuttles around though as I've seen them and will likely be cheaper than uber . I can't imagine a 90 min -2 hr ride between universal and Disney being overly cheap with uber . |
