Mousekeeping tipping question
Afternoon all
Firstly let me say I have no problem leaving a tip for mousekeeping , but i read that people leave approx $1 per day per person in the room., which would be fine if there was a family or a couple for example. But as a solo traveller I feel that $1 per day may seem mean. Should I leave more each day or leave a bigger tip every other day (I don't have mousekeeping every day as I sometimes leave the "do not disturb" sign on the door) What do you all advise?

I would stick with the $1 a day if you aren't particularly untidy

I think I'd leave $2 but make sure I have a few days when the do not disturb sign is up like you say which would even things out. We may leave $4 for us four but I am sure we make a whole load more mess than you x

Must admit, I do tend to leave the room tidy each day, but do admit I don't make the bed just fold the bedding back . Don't need fresh towels every day either as I do tend to just hang them back up rather than putting them in the bath for changing daily.

I leave $2 if a room, $5 if a suite - that's as a couple, but would leave the same solo. We leave the room VERY tidy though, there's barely anything for them to do!

$1 a day should be fine! Over tipping doesn't ensure a cleaner room.

I holiday at WDW with just my DD sometimes and other times our whole family of four go. I tip Mousekeeping $5 a day regardless. My view is the room doesn't shrink. I'm very tidy with two or four in the room. I've also cleaned hotel rooms as a youngster.

Call me a tight Yorkshireman but I wont be tipping Mouse keeping this year. At the end of the day Disney are getting enough off me. Our mandatory 18% table service charges ( 6 people) will run the region of £600 alone and I am just not prepared to give another $100 away when I dont have to. Now I realize that their wages are not that high, but thats not my fault. I dont leave a mess, and I would quite happily have them once a week for new sheets .
I will be taking 21 bags of mini haribo and he/she can have one a day. Roll on the hate coming my way, but I am sure other people feel similar to me!
