Experience of Club Lounge Hard Rock

Hi Dibbers,

We've booked to stay in the club rooms at Hard rock and wondered whether anyone could advise what was available at breakfast, is it so busy food has to be taken back to the room. And are soft drinks available all day?

thanks

Hi breakfast is toast that you make yourself, cereal, pastries etc. It does get very busy as its only a small room. We were lucky our room was very near so we took things back. And drinks are available all day.

Also porridge and some bagels. We were there at Easter so was quite busy. Our first day we were early and got a table, other days a bit later and we had to wait 5 mins or so to get a table.
There are always bottles of water and if there aren't soft drinks out and you want them the staff will go get them for you. The staff were great and couldn't do enough for us. One evening when the hot snacks were out my ds didn't like them and they got lots of bags of doritos and cookies out for him and other kids. The staff really made it for us there.

There is a pretty good selection of breads and pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, spreads. mimosas 🙂 tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice etc. Get there 10 minutes before they open to guarantee a seat.

Oh thank you guys, so there is staff in there all day? And only drinks outside of the evening snacks and breakfast?

Only experience I've ever had of a "club lounge" was at the crown plaza years ago and you just swiped your card to get in and it was a tired room Tins of coke in fridge and packs of biscuits!

It wasn't open all day when we stayed in 2015. It closed in between each 'service'.

Does anyone know if you can take bottles of water/ cans of pop etc back to your room as I understand they're not cold so would be nice to put in the fridge. Also what about taking alcohol back to your room? If husband and kids were ready would he be able to bring me a glass of wine to the room while I got ready. Or if that didn't work for ID purposes would I be able to collect it?

You can take it back to the room. No opinions requested please, but this is how my 17 year old managed to have a couple of beers when we stayed there. I also took wine so I could have a glass getting ready to go out for the evening.

Another word of warning, be careful removing bits from the mini bar. Not sure if HRH is the same but the fridges/mini bars in the Portofino are weight sensitive, we took out several items to cool water etc and had a rather hefty bill at the end as each item we removed was charged automatically to our bill. Reception did refund all items but was a bit of a palaver
