Can't really recommend as we've booked but not been yet. Booked 2 nights at The Inn at Pelican Bay for August. Looks a nice hotel but maybe not within walking distance of some things.

We had two nights at the Inn on the 5th last September, a really lovely hotel very central and not too far to walk to the beach although we drove, taking our parasol and chairs lent to us by the hotel. The beach we went on was right by the pier. Beautiful sandy beach and the water was so clear. It also felt like a bath lol. We ate at the docks one night a place called Pinchers that was good, and we also had a meal at Bonefish Grill which was a short walk away across the bridge. We drove up to the Miromar outlets one day, got some great bargains there we loved our stay and might go back in April for another visit when we stay at Cape Coral

We've stayed in a villa on a community called briarwood which was lovely but a drive from everywhere, inn on 5th was good for a couple of nights but we could not do any longer with my son in the room as well We tend to choose a villa on Marco Island now and bike to the beaches, restaurants etc

We are going in August and I am looking at hiring a boat for the day so can go manatee/dolphin spotting.

So much to do - great beaches (Naples, Sanibel, Captiva, Lovers Key to name a few) huge Malls nearby (Miromar, Coconut Point, Coastland Mall) and great activities such as Naples Zoo, dolphin boat trips, Segway tours & trips to the Everglades. I can't comment on accommodation as we visit from our villa in Cape Coral which is only half an hour away.
You will really enjoy the area. Have a great time. |

We've stayed at the Cove Inn at Naples Marina numerous times and the Dock restaurant there is worth a visit. The Cove also has a great small breakfast cafe. Also the Riverwalk at Tin City is waters edge dining. Boat trips are popular and don't miss sunset at the pier to watch for dolphins. The Barrier Islands are good with Sanibel and Captiva our favourites.
