Lets find out what happens when u bring the twins ... January 2017 Travel Day 07/01/17

I woke at 5am im obviously the biggest kid of all 😉 i just flicked through social media and news on my phone til the kids woke up at 7. They knew we were going on holidays but didnt know it was the day til we woke them. We all got up and had a fry up for breakfast we wanted to make sure we had something decent and filling before we left.

We loaded the few little bits we had left to pack into the car and gerards dad arrived just after 10 to bring us to the airport (he would drive gerards car up and park it back on our drive then collect us in it aswell) travelling light as you do with toddlers we had 2 carseats, 3 suitcases, 1 double buggy, 2 trunkis and a backpack we struggled into the terminal lucky it was only a 2 min walk. We arrived at 10.45 when we got inside the queues were horrendous glad we had arrived 3 and a half hours early. We queued for an hour alone at check in kids where great they were buzzing with excitment and it made me optimistic for the holiday ahead. We got the luggage checked in but had to go and queue at over size baggage to drop off the buggy and car seats. This should of been simple and easy all our stuff was tagged we joined the short queue in this queue there is also people who need airport assistance so they take a little longer because they need to check in for their flight which is fair enough their was one person in front of us using this service they queued with everyone else but then 2 older workers who obviously had years of experience just skipped the queue now it wasnt very long and it literally takes a minute to drop your stuff but they didnt want to wait one of them had a elderly couple but the other chap had 10 people yes 10 people who all needed to b checked in we felt it was taking the mickey a little there were other people who had assistance were in the queue and he just skipped the kids were antsy at this stage so gerard asked the man why he wasnt queuing and got a mouth full of abuse off him so a queue that should of taken 10 minutes max took a half hour!

Feeling a little annoyed we headed off to security this had slight queues was also a little sad because outside there were families saying goodbye to loved ones who had been home for the holidays. It took about 10 minutes to get through when we checked in the lady said we should head for pre clearance at 12.30 so we nipped to the toilets and went on down. It wasnt busy at all and we got through it all and were at our gate for 1 o clock. We wer due to depart at 2.15 kids chilled on their ipads mammy and daddy had a beer.

When we only started boarding at 1.50 we kinda guessed we were not going to depart on time so we waited til near the end to board we were down near the back anyway we all boarded no problem and we took off at 2.45 the captain told us we were scheduled to land at 7.15 local time.

The flight was grand little bit of turrbulence but nothing really eventful. We got food about an hour and a half after take off we ordered kids meals they had potatoe cubes and chicken and we got beef and pasta had wanted peppered chicken but they ran out so didnt have the option. The kids food was nicer than ours. I forgot to take pics of it but beleive me it looked as good as it tasted 😞. We got to watch 2 films i watched the new tarzan and a date with mad mary gerard also watched tarzan cant remember the other one he watched.

The kids watched secret life of pets on loop aswell as watching films we had downloaded onto their ipads and on netflix they also played games aoibhìnn slept for 2 hours fionn didnt sleep at all. We landed at 7.30 local time. We got and went to baggage claim and when we got their the bags had just started to come up. Took about 10 minutes to get all of stuff we loaded up a trolley and set off for almao we had done OLCI & STC so we straight to garage we had booked a mid size suv rav 4 or similar but ended up with a hyundai santa fea at this stage fionn was massively overtired and had a bit of melt down but once we started driving he fell asleep before we left the airport. We got lost thanks to my deplorable map reading skills but thanks to google maps we found our way (google maps were our godsend no need to use data as orlando maps are available offline because at one stage when we were lost we were actually gonna buy a sat nav wishing we just paid to hire one) it was 9.30 by the time we arrived at our hotel (avanti resort on i drive) i went to check in got sorted quick enough we drove round to our building but there wasnt a parking space near so we had to park a bit away. We lifted the kids and just tucked them into bed while gerard unloaded the car. We wer exhausted but it was about 12 by the time we got settled and to sleep. Day One Animal Kingdom 😊😊

Yeah was a very long travel day and after all my worrying about the flight it was the shortest distance of the journey that caused the most stressed. We were unfortunate that due to winds the flight had to go the longest route the air hostess had said how great the kids wer on the flight considering its normally at least an hour shorter so i was a little proud i'd been so worried they would get bored and act up but they loved every minute of it. Thanks for reading. Hopefully will get the next day up later this evening ☺

The kids behaved so well!

We did Skip The Counter too, it was amazing just picking up the bags and then heading straight to the car. We did spend a ridiculous amount of time choosing though haha.
