My hubby uses a north face backpack, the little compartments at the side are perfect to put a couple of bottles of water in, he has the suncream and pain relief should anyone need it, and I just take a little looking cross body bag for my phone/camera and little bit of money.

I used to take a very light nylon Nike backpack with a drawstring. However, last couple of year's I've used cargo shorts (and so have friends). The ones from Fat Face (other brands are available!) have multiple, deep pockets and are perfect for carrying the items that you describe.

I've got the arpenaz bag for my dh, after recommendations on here. It's a great size and lightweight, the fact it's an absolute bargain is even better!

There was a thread on this last week and, as a result, Decathlon sold a lot of those little arpenaz rucksacks including 2 for us. I'm surprised they haven't put the price up!

What size are they measurement wise rather than litres please? And are they shower proof?

Cargo shorts for me also, usually enough pockets. HiD uses a small hand bag, big enough for a small Ipad. Only time we take a small backpack is if we are going to be in late and want to take some warmer clothes

The arpenaz bag looked great, my hubby has just ordered a small bag pack thing of eBay, £14.99. The arpenaz looks far better and price wise, WOW.

I use a 'fanny pack'! It has a nice big pocket for essentials and on each side of the pocket a mesh pouch for carrying plastic drinks bottles in. I used it for the last 2 or 3 trips... just need to locate it before August now!
