That's a shame for people with 8am ADR's, I was disappointed when I couldn't get 8am for CP in August this morning for this reason and got 830 instead but looks like it doesn't matter now. I got an 8.05 for BOG as well thinking that we may get a castle photo with not many people around, oh well at least we might get on seven dwarfs early.

I would like to believe it is, but when Disney see the revenue they will be getting from people in the shops and starbucks I cannot see them going back to the way it was, they will not risk losing the money. It's all about the bottom line, and yes I know it is a business.

So what is then show now ...

Think we will still do early breakfast as we usually up early then we can leave park early afternoon and go do the food shop for villa lol

My best tip for empty castle pictures with the new rope drop is to head to the castle just as a show has finished in the day, everyone departs and suddenly you have the castle to yourself for a couple of minutes.

The old rope drop brought a tear to my eye every time and made me excited to walk in to MK. This time it felt like a damp squib and just didn't have the happy energy to it

Thank you for this...looks rather bland I would have at least expected a song...oh well might just have breakfast then head to a position that lets us head into fantasyland quickly...think our first stop is dumbo for my little girl who will only be 2 and 1st time at disney

Thanks for the info, I was just wondering what the changes were after seeing a few comments.
So what's the new Park opening times, I see it still listed as 9am on nonEMH days? Does this mean you queue to enter the park before 0745 to wait for a rope drop show at 0855 and rides start at 0900?
I didn't mind getting to the park for 0800 to be one of the first (first of a few hundred) in and be able to walk on the first few rides, but this sounds like the park starts off full.
