It was about a 2hr journey there, but i remeber it was great to view the countryside on the way there
 I did a trip report and there are photos on there if i remember rightly, really highly recommended x

You can kayak at shingle creek, its on the 192 just along from kissimmee old town, havnt tried it but it looked pretty and the river/creek looked tame enough.

We hire canoes from Canoe Escape in Tampa, and paddle down the Hillsborough River.
Wouldn't recommend jumping in the river though - 'gators everywhere  And flippin' big ones at that  Deb

We have enjoyed getting a boat out around the Seven Seas Lagoon from Disneys Polynesian Resort. Its a different way to see parts of WDW.
