Early plan for Oct
I have been having a go at planning out our end of Oct trip. Obviously currently estimated park hours (using last years hours that week). We are 2 adults in out first trip. Staying at PORS. We don't plan on doing the Halloween party. We think we will struggle with heat/crowds in the middle of the day so plan to be up early for rope drop/EMH then take a midday break before hopping to a different park in the PM.
Also as this is likely a once in a lifetime trip we want to see as much as possible so haven't put any rest days in although 3 slower evenings- 1 DS, 1 just doing fireworks so will go out later and 1 resort evening. How does this look? Tuesday- Am MK, hoping to take advantage of jet lag and get a pre opening ADR for BOG Pm- Disney springs Wednesday- AK am, then Magic Kingdom fireworks PM but as it's likely to be very busy (normal fireworks only on 2 nights that week) we will likely only do fireworks. Thursday- Epcot am EMH, HS pm Friday- Magic Kingdom all day as we want to see FOF parade in middle of the pm but we will likely leave after that. Then resort evening. Sat- AK all day, EMH in the morning so when we come back in the evening after break anticipating it being busy so will likely do rides in morning only but wanted to see the park after dark and will likely get an ADR for dinner. Sunday- am HS EMH, pm Epcot mostly for food and wine Monday leaving mid afternoon so thinking Epcot am. Any thoughts? |

Looks like a fairly sound plan. We are there at the same time, and I have planned what park on which day initially, obviously the hours are not released yet but it gives a base to work with.
Heat wise OCT is cooler than the height of summer, mid 80`s so it should be quite manageable, also there is reduced humidity. Again without part hours its difficult but you could, if you did not want to back to the resort and then back out for the MK fireworks see them on a EPCOT day and just hop on the monorail from EPCOT to MK. If you were not aware there is a boat from POR to Disney Springs which I recommend as its a lovely trip down the river.

Apart from crowds which are manageable ( it's marathon weekend and jersey week that get busy ) you should manage the days. No humidity, as Grinner says lovely warm uk summer days . Weekends food and wine all the locals go so that does get busy. X

Thanks for the replies.
Hoping Sunday evening will be quieter for food and wine than Friday or Saturday would have been, also wanted to avoid Disney springs on a weekend as I hear that gets very busy as well so once I added that in and the limited days for MK fireworks and avoiding evening EMH that left me with limited options for food and wine. Hoping we will be ok with the heat but we can struggle even in the UK when it gets to 28-30 so planning on the worst, if we get there and decide we can manage more park hours it will be a bonus. Unfortunatly Grinner the MK fireworks are only on Wednesday and Saturday, assuming it's the same as last year, which doesn't match with any of our Epcot days. Yes we will definetly use the Disney springs boat. |
