Me and my sister found queues in both Disney and universal quite long, but expected that due to visiting across 4th july period.

Thank you, we have only ever been in sept/Oct so wanted a comparison for the waiting times for rides.

All US schools are on summer break by the end of June, so compared to your usual September/October visits, queues in general will be much longer.
