Wot, no Disney?! August 2019 Day 8

I slept on the sofa bed last night. It was not comfy and I had a rubbish nights sleep! I think I woke up about 4:30. The boys woke up sometime after 6.

The usual morning routine today, cereal for breakfast in our room, then we got the boat over from Sapphire Falls. We arrived at US about 8:15 and headed on to Minions. That will definitely be the last time this holiday, even ds2 was starting to look bored 😂

Then we decided to head round to do some of the rides we haven’t done yet. Simpson’s first, both boys loved this. Then Men In Black where for the first time ever I got the red button bonus and won! Woohoo! Snack time next, what else could it be but a big pink donut.

Next was ET. I have such a soft spot for this ride. Last year for some reason both boys found it scary but this year they enjoyed it - phew.

Then on to Woody Woodpeckers coaster where we just stayed on for 3 goes. It was about 10:30 by this point and this area of the park was very quiet. Dh and ds2 also went on the little water slide there which they both love.

Next up was Fast and Furious as we’d never done it before. Let’s just say we probably won’t do it again either. This was followed by Transformers which ds2 had been asking to do. I was worried he would find it a bit scary but he enjoyed it and DS1 was fine too - he won’t wear 3D glasses though.

Then lunch. This was at Mels Diner where we eat fairly often. I had a bacon cheeseburger and all the boys had chicken tenders. All good!

We toyed with the idea of going over to IOA but to be honest the heat was really getting to dh and the boys today. I am actually mostly fine with it but it was super sweaty so I’m not surprised. We headed out and got the bus back to the hotel, and spent a couple of hours just chilling and napping in the case of dh.

Then tea and finally we were off to Cowfish. We got showered and changed and got the boat over again. Dh ordered a black truffle burger and Parmesan, truffle and bacon fries, and a ruby panther cocktail. The burger was average, the fries were outstanding and the cocktail was good. I had a sip - it was strong!

The fries in the picture there are not the Parmesan ones as they forgot those and had to bring them out separately.

DS1 had the pb&j sushi and ds2 had the mini burgers. I wish they would get a bit more adventurous with their food sometimes!

I had Dions OMG sushi roll and a glass of wine. This was delicious, I really enjoyed it!

We decided not to stay for dessert as the selection was very minimal. Instead we headed over to Voodoo Donuts. We tried these last year and to be honest we were not impressed but I think we just made bad choices as the ones we had today were much nicer! I had the apple fritter which I’d seen mentioned in a few trip reports. Dh had a Portland cream and DS1 had the voodoo doll and both enjoyed them. Ds2 just had an ordinary one with sprinkles which wasn’t that great, he just wanted to eat ds1’s donut! I had loads of mine left to take back to the hotel.

That will make a good breakfast for tomorrow!
