2 years since the Manchester bomb

One of those life moments for me
Just sat up watching it unfold . Then found out a girl at my sons school ( one year older ) was one of the victims
I know we can’t live our lives in fear , but I’ve been several times to the MEN as I will always know it as , and doubt my DS and DD will ever let us go there again

RIP Olivia Campbell Hardy and the other 21

My daughter was at a gig there last night. She says they were very respectful and the security was multi layered. Horrific events and I was on edge for the 8 hours she was gone but I believe we can’t be beaten by fear. My respectful wishes also to everyone affected by the tragedy.

I’ve been in tears on and off pretty much all day. It makes me so emotional. I was out in Manchester that night, thankfully we weren’t swayed by our friends wanting us to stay out for another drink and we jumped on the tram at Victoria less than an hour before the bomb went off. I never slept that night, stayed up watching the news. No major incident has affected me more than this as it was in my home town, the city I love. I am so proud to be a Manc, the way the city has come together is amazing 💞💞💞💞 thinking of the 22 angels today and always 🐝🐝

Thinking of all those lovely people who never made it home that night, still very raw, but the city has done itself proud xx

I work in Manchester’s central hospital and remember that night so well , we had to discharge “well” patients during the night to make beds for victims. It was a very difficult time but the people of Manchester have a lot of spirit x

I've just been looking on my Facebook memories and one of them was where I had shared a picture where someone was looking for 2 local ladies who were missing saying, hope their phones are flat and they are in hospital etc . These were 2 of the ones unfortunatly later confirmed as dead. I didn't know them, but have a lot of friends who did.
So sad still, I agree with others, it beings it home when its your own town.

Is this the women from Royton? I didn’t know them either but have friends who did. It’s heartbreaking x

Yes, it is. Alison went to my school, a few years above me but I don't remember her.

I’d been to an Eric Clapton concert at the Royal Albert Hall that evening and driving home the news from Manchester was on the radio. I couldn’t help but think how easily it could happen at any venue where people are gathered to enjoy themselves.

I’m quite nervous about such attacks and don’t venture up to London as much as I did, a shame because I’m only an hour away. I don’t care if people think I’m letting the terrorists win.

Was that the two mums who were there to pick up their daughters ? I saw their daughters speaking about their mums yesterday , so sad and so many families whose lives changed forever that day , it's heartbreaking . We should all spare a thought for the city of Manchester today who suffered a terrible incident that wrecked so many peoples lives 💔🌹
