Swapping TS credits for Snack credits

Just wondering if anyone knows the official line on swapping TS credits for snack credits.

Last time we went I tried to use a TS credit to buy 3 snacks in a outlet and they said I could only do that in certain outlets.

So we went to our hotel and they confirmed this but said they would be happy to swap some of TS credits for snack credits on the system.

Was the reception person just being helpful and going above and beyond or is this normal practice ?

I ask because I am going to want to do this again and just wondering if its the norm or if its a bit of a special request ?

The reception person was just being helpful and going above and beyond. On my going home day Thursday just gone I had a TS credit I knew I wouldn't use. I asked at the front desk if it could be changed to 3 snack credits on the system. The lady spoke to one of her superiors (a delightful lady named Hope with whom I'd had a few lovely conversations during my trip). Hope said it wasn't something normally done but they would do so in this instance. So they did. The cynic in me thinks that they want guests to return and since I'd said I was going home that day they wanted to do something that would encourage me to return.

See, the cynic in me thinks that she wanted to make you feel like she was giving you some extra pixie dust! I've heard many, many reports of people swapping credits (either QS or TS) for snacks at their resort reception, so it is common practice even if not an "official" thing.

We just came back today , and had the ddp for 2 weeks , we ended up with a lot of quick service credits left so bought 3 snack items for 1 qs credit in many places no problem, not sure if it’s different for TS

I've never heard of it happening before. You're probably right, I'm feeling down in the dumps about going back to work tomorrow! I hate that place ... Hope really is lovely, I chatted to her several times during the course of my 10 days at Beach Club. I wore Disney tee shirts most days and she always commented on them when she saw me in the lobby. She was particularly taken with my Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion ones!

I was at Disney Springs when I wanted to convert mine and the people at the big Guest Services place said to convert them at DS I could either go to Goofy's or the candy cauldron and they would do it for me at check out (they didn't actually do it for me there and then at guest services, which I thought they would). I guess they wanted to send me to their own outlets to buy rather than converting them for me and then me heading over to Sprinkles or Joffrey's and spending them all?

We have always been able to convert left over Ts credits to 3 snack credits you just had to tell them that was what you wanted to do before they scanned the goods. There may be some places that don't do it but its def doable. The hotel concierge can do it for you too apparently but I've never asked as we always be able to do it at the till.

Its a really poor use of a credit but if your not able to use them its better than nothing and disney allow it as your only getting $15-$20 dollars worth of goods compared to the $50-$60 a table service credit can be worth

We have the premium plan and already ahead on saving money - just want to use the last few remaining credits for buying drinks around the park etc
