Stupid question alert.

After receiving our Canadian and US dollars today I suddenly thought what do we do moneywise when we are in port. We are on harmony of the seas on the 18th August visiting coco cay, Cozumel, Costa maya and Roatan. Can anyone tell me can we use our US dollars in these places?

Do you mean on the ship ? All ship purchases are in dollars.

If you mean in shire some shops will take dollars, but mainly local currency.

You can definitely use USD in Cozumel and I would assume Coco Cay would be ship card only.

Thank you, I meant on shore looks like we will just have to stick to places that take dollars or card.

Coco Cay will be ship card but some private islands allow selected local vendors to trade and they take dollars.
The US $ is accepted throughout the Caribbean, we've done many cruises in the area and only ever taken $. Occasionally, you may get change in local currency.

Hope you have a wonderful cruise on Harmony. We were on her last year and had a ball. Amazing how quickly you find your bearings on such a big ship!
