Miami Disembarkation Day
Hi All,
We are on the Carnival Horizon for Christmas coming back to Miami. Our flight isn't until 6pm and I don't fancy sitting in the airport all day ! Was thinking of hiring a car just to drive around and see the sights, maybe stop off for a couple of hours somewhere - has anyone done this? Where would I pick the car up from, is there somewhere close to the terminal? Or does anyone have any other ideas on what we could do for a few hours? Thanks

Most cruise lines offer disembarkation tours - whhich we have done in the past. We have been able to load our cases on the coach and have a tour of the area or once we did a boat ride round Fort Lauderdale. At the end of the tour (normally between 2 and 3 pm) you get dropped off at the airport. Have found this a better option than trying to get to a car hire place and pick up a car for just a few hours.

We have the same situation, I'm going to book a day room at a hotel so we can relax and swim and generally chill until we leave for the airport relaxed and showered.

Hi, we always book a car. Its cheap, gives you freedom and gets you back to the airport!
From Miami we book with Alamo, they have a shuttle bus from port to airport to collect a car then head off for a few hours before heading back to the airport for the late flight

Do you know where the shuttle bus picks up from at the port? I think we are terminal D/E - is it far from here?

We booked a tour from the ship so it made life very easy.

I did the ship tour offered (hop on hop off bus and transfer) and this was perfect as could sight-see and then head to the airport at a reasonable time. I wish Disney offered something similar from Port Canaveral as going to have a few hours to waste at MCO this year
