Standard SUV... which one!

Thinking of going for a standard SUV for next year, never hired this class of car before. Which models should I be looking out for, probably hiring with Alamo at Tampa airport.

I just went to Sanford. Had one Hyundai at Alamo and nothing else. The guy showing me the row upgraded me to a VW Atlas, very nice. But drinks petrol with a V6. Gave him a $10 tip.

We’re here now and have got a Nissan Rogue, roomy inside for four, boot just about fits 3 suitcases side on!

We have just collected a GMC Terrain and it is lovely - so quiet it’s unbelievable!

I wanted the GMC Acadia when we went but had the Hyundai Santa Fe for 21 days and it was fine... Uninspiring but absolutely fine.

We’re here now, flew into TPA and hired standard with Alamo, and have the GMC Arcadia. It was handy having the extra seats in the back with three teens, plenty of space for them. Built in sat nav, camera etc. It is fuel guzzling though in comparison to other SUV we have rented in the past but all in all a nice car

We got a Nissan Rogue in July but it is classed as an intermediate SUV as far as I know. Loved it - had one as an intermediate the last 2 years.

We had a Toyota 4Runner which was absolutely fine. Plenty of luggage room, good radio and sat nav and also reversing camera. Looked it up in US magazine whilst we were there and it got very average reviews but thought it was fine. Certainly good to have such a meaty car in a couple of storms we got caught in - one on bridge/causeway thing fromTampa to St Petersburg was almost biblical!
