Are there garden centres in Florida?

Morning. As the title says really, are there any garden centres in Florida? Not for bringing plants home of course but for tools maybe, ornaments, and general garden 'stuff'.

We will be staying off Highway 27 and will be driving about so if you have any suggestions please let us know.

Thank you

Walmart has a garden centre... and there are some tools in Target... but it is seasonal.

Most of the larger supermarkets, Target, Walmart etc have a garden section. For more choice then you could add the DIY places Lowes and Home Depot.

Ross often have a small selection of gardening stuff, very reasonably priced but not much is the way of choice.

I see from your countdown that you are going at Halloween - this will likely give you mountains of other things to look at, the choice Halloween decorations themselves and then they get replaced by Christmas decorations.

We got completely carried away last year, shopping for ourselves and our daughter's Christmas Trees

One recommendation, if you see something you like, buy it straight away as the shelves are cleared locust-like and not replenished with the same breadth of choice.

Regards

Gary

Thank you for the suggestions so far. We did wonder about the "B&Q" type places which we will no doubt have a nosy around.

Are there any chains of specific garden centres at all too like Wyevale, Notcutts, and independents dotted about?

Strangely this is something i've never seen. As mentioned Walmart has an outdoor type section and maybe Home Depot (not been in one). Never ever seen garden centres. I'm sure they must have them somewhere!

We have a couple by us on the 17/92 but the are more plant nursery’s
selling palms and tropical planting garden ornaments etc and are tiny
As others have said Home Depo And choice of 2 Lowes on the 27
or Tractor Supply sells everything from chickens to chisels some different home decor garden ornaments etc
If you are on the 27 the nearest one will be down by us in the strip mall across from Walmart at Haines City on US27 South side before Mannys
I brought home a huge 5 point star from there in July it’s 4 feet wide
Came to bits for bringing home everyone who’s seen it loves it

Houses over there don't tend to have English style gardens. The front garden is often just open plan with a lawn, some shrubs and maybe a tree. Back gardens (they call them 'yards') are not that different, and if they have a pool, there may not be space for much else.

Typing 'garden centre' into GoogleMaps will give you the Lowes and Walmart garden centres - that's what there is. At the Lowes at Cagan Crossings, there is an entrance with the sign 'Garden Center' - at the Walmart next door, the sign is 'Outdoor Living'. Typing 'plant nursery' or 'landscape supplies' into GoogleMaps shows you a few smaller specialist places where you can get plants, or your mulch and stones.

UK Garden Centres near me like Frosts and Dobbies seem to sell lots of 'stuff' that are nothing to do with gardens. You might find similar such 'stuff' at the stores at Cracker Barrel restaurants, for example.

There is a Lowe's across the road from us where H27 meets the 192
Frustrating you can't get most of the stuff on the plane

I have been in most Home Depots in North America ( or so it feels!) due to DH being self employed looking for tools, gadgets and stuff you apparently cant get here.

They do have some lovely garden centres in most of them as mentioned many are seasonal the further down the state you go the bigger the garden centres seem to be.
