After a quick search online I came across some articles saying that the work permits for the Tron coaster last until 16th August 2021. So, unfortunately, it does look like Disney are expecting to open it around Summer 2021.

I like the Speedway as well. My daughter and I have had some great times on it - me pushing the pedals whilst she steers.

However, considering it is in Tomorrowland and right next to the new Tron coaster, it would be a missed opportunity if they didn't retheme it to include futuristic-looking cars with glowing lines.

It took Universal to about 2.5 years to build Fast&Furious.

It's likely taking so long so that Disney can reduce costs. Rather than having multiple attraction work going on at the same time, they are probably staggering the work on the Tron coaster so that it doesn't start in earnest until after Star War land has been completed. And, as themeparksandy says, with all the other new things opening between now and 2020 there's no need to rush the Tron coaster in order to open it sooner.

The speedway really needs updating. Electric cars would be fab given the current fumes given off by the gas cars

Hi all, I'd rather they kept the railroad running that's always our first ride when we arrive at MK

Note to self - do the Railroad this October before it closes!

I've personally never been a fan of the Tomorrowland Speedway, but that's just me - I know others really like it.

As long as they keep their sticky paws off the TTA ...

Unlike the Railroad and the Speedway, I don't think the PeopleMover goes over where the new Tron coaster is going. So I don't think that'll be affected. Same goes for Space Mountain.

I think I can cope with anything other than BTM being closed when I go next year.
