Tips for Dining

Hey

So i went with the standard dining plan so will get a table service credit looking at doing a few character meals and some restaurants however can i pay tips with cash and not go on my account.

as i will put money away for tips, i really don't wanna charge anything to my room whilst i am there?

also when you have to put a card on file to your magic band can it be a pre paid card as i won't be using my magic band to buy anything?

Hi we always use cash for tips, make sure they don't add to bill as well

You could charge to your room and use your cash to pay it off each day. We found it extremely convenient to charge on the band but I didn’t want a big bill at the end so I paid it off each evening.
Just another option. You don’t have to have charging at all, you can ask for it not to be set up.

yes you can just write cash in the tip amount line that way its clear you have tipped.
Adding charging to your magic band is optional so you don't have to do it if you prefer not too but its really easy to use it then just pay it off each day or every few days. You don't have to wait till the end of your stay to clear any outstanding charges.

Charging to your room is so, so easy. You can use a prepaid card, credit card or debit card to set it up, but you don't need to use the card to pay it off. We paid every couple of days with travellers' cheques, so that we could see how much we had left. Travellers cheques are way safer than cash.

Provided you don't reach your limit, nothing will be charged to your card at all.

Make sure you pay everything off the night before you check out, as anything outstanding will be charged to your card in the middle of the night, even if you ask them not to.

I believe that MDE has been upgraded to show you what food credits you have used and what you have spent on your Magic Band although I haven’t used it since these developments were made so not certain. If it has it makes managing charging to your MB much safer though in terms of keeping track of what you spend. You could use your MB and keep your cash in the safe and just use your cash to pay it off every few days. To do this you would have to leave card info with them though. Doesn’t mean you have to spend on the card however.

I only tip 10% at buffet restaurants
