We went in july this year. We hag a few adrs booked in advance but I’m really bad for changing my mind, so consequently we booked quite a lot last minute. But I have to add that there’s not really any restaurant there that I want to do so much that I would be disappointed in not getting. If that were the case then I would pre book well in advance.
The times we have been now, we tend to decide that morning what we fancy doing for food that evening and then see what’s available, but we haven’t ever had the dining plan.
This year we got very last minute adrs for
Crystal Palace late lunch
50s prime time diner lunch
Nine dragons dinner
Sanaa dinner
Can’t remember what else tbh but I do remember there being quite a lot of availability.

If you are flexible and willing to eat outside of the most popluar times (dinner at 6?), you can call or go on line and get ADRs the day of.

When we travelled as a large group, we would often call the dining line as we were leaving the park and always found a nice place to eat. We tend to have a later dinner so that helped.

Well, Thankyou everyone for your responses. I think the message here is to ADR anything we definitely want to do, but if we dont need to ADR every day, as long as we’re flexible “morning of” we can catch an evening ADR somewhere in WDW. Relying on walking up seems a very risky approach.

Thankyou everyone for taking the time to reply.
