Question Extra CC charges by car hire firms?

Hi,
Can anyone clarify what these charges are for? I've seen a few people talking about them now and I'm a little worried for when we go.

Are you talking about the CC processing fee.

If you mean the additional charges that some people have found debited against their credit cards apparently without their consent, just be careful what you sign for. You will be offered (at a cost), things like upgrades, roadside assistance, etc, personal accident insurance etc., but you don't need them. The only insurance/extra you need is CDW (collision damage waiver), which should already be included if you have booked a car online. Calling up your original booking will tell you exactly what is included. There are other charges, like local taxes and various facility charges that should also be listed on your contract. When you initial your rental document at the counter, make sure you are doing it in the DECLINE box.

Steve
I think it may be related to the toll roads?
